Pushkar Lake

Pushkar Lake is considered as the holiest lake in India.
The charm of Pushkar Lake is also mentioned in some old books like Abhigyan Sakuntalam, Mahabharat and Ramayana. A dip in this holy water can purify one from all the sins, troubles and ailments. Sacred to the Hindus as well as the Sikhs, this lake has its mention in history since the 14th century. the lake has 52 bathing ghats (steps leading into the water) and the water around each ghat is believed to possess special medicinal powers. The Pushkar Lake is a popular destination for pilgrims, as evidenced by the over 500 temples that dot the banks of the lake.

Brahma Temple Pushkar

Jagatpita Brahma Mandir
one of the most visited shrines of the town. It is one of the few temples in the world that are dedicated to Lord Brahma. The 14th-century temple features a distinct pinnacle in red and a lovely motif of a hamsa bird. An idol of a four-headed Brahma resides inside the temple, accompanied by his consort Gayatri. the impressive architecture of this worship place makes it worth your time. Pushkar has over 500 temples, some very old, but the Brahma temple is the most important among them. Pushkar is often described in the scriptures as the only Brahma temple in the world

Varaha Temple Pushkar

One of the oldest shrines in Pushkar
the Varah Temple was built in the 12th century. After Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb destroyed the temple, it was rebuilt by Raja Sawai Man Singh II in the 18th century. The shrine is dedicated to Varaha, Lord Vishnu’s incarnation as a wild boar. Today the temple stands as a fine testament to the architectural magnificence of the bygone era. The flawless structural beauty makes it a one-of-a-kind attraction that is rarely missed by tourists and pilgrims alike. this is a fortified temple in Pushkar and is considered to be the most ancient temple in the city. The temple has 2 feet white idol of Lord Varaha in the sanctum sanctorum. Various sculptures, elegant carvings, life-size statues of door men and gold-styled pillars depicting Garuda, the mythical bird are situated within the temple.

Savitri Temple Pushkar

A historically and religiously significant shrine in Rajasthan
Pushkar is one of the most sacred Hindu places of pilgrimage, mentioned in the Ramayana and the Mahahharata. Among its numerous shrines, Savitri Temple holds special eminence. According to Hindu mythology, Savitri is considered wife of Brahma and this temple is dedicated to her. Pushkar is surrounded by hills from its three sides. The temple is located on the highest top of the Ratnagiri Hill, southwest hill. There are almost 200 stairs to reach the top of hill, although one can also go with the help of ropeway. Being at this much height, the temple provides a pleasant view of the surroundings.

History & Glory

The Jat people are an ethnic group spread over Northern India, but also including large numbers living in the EU, US, Canada, Australia and UK. The Jat people have traditionally been mainly agriculturalists and members of the military. Historically, there have been many Jat kings and other leading figures, including several prominent political leaders in Pakistan and India, such as Choudhary Charan Singh, Chaudhary Bansi Lal and Chaudhari Devi Lal. Jats in India are found in Haryana, U.P. Punjab and Rajasthan in large numbers.
The Jats were skilled farmers, and while they were in power, towns like Panipat and Ballabgarh developed into significant trading hubs. Suraj Mal led the kingdom of Bharatpur to become a powerful state.
A large number of Jat people have served in the Indian Army, including in the Jat Regiment, Sikh Regiment, Rajputana Rifles and the Grenadiers, where they have won many of the highest military awards for gallantry and bravery. The Jat Regiment is one of the longest serving and most decorated infantry regiments of the Indian Army having won 24 battle honours between 1839 and 1947, along with numerous decorations of individual members. The Jat people are one of the most prosperous groups in India on a per-capita basis.

Jaat Dharamshala in Pushkar

Tejaji (तेजाजी) (29.1.1074 - 28.8.1103) was a warrior, social reformer and folk-deity of Rajasthan in Northern India. The pages of history of Rajasthan are full of many heroic events, stories and examples where people put their life and families at risk and kept the pride and upheld moral values like loyalty, freedom and truth etc. Veer Teja was one of those famous persons in the history of Rajasthan.
